Fresh Air and Summer Sunshine Await at Fort Barnard Park

It’s timeto get outside and enjoy the fresh summer air. Head down to Fort Barnard Park and partake in a variety of activities to suit your taste. You are sure to find something to do here throughout this five-acre park: tending to your own vegetable plot at the community garden; playing with your dog at the dog park; playing a baseball, softball, or basketball game with friends; walking along the paved trails; or taking your kids to the Fort themed playground.

The park is open from sunrise to sunset daily and after you’re done spending the afternoon at Fort Barnard park, clean up with a fresh shower at a nearby community center, grab dinner at a number of nearby restaurants, and finish off your night with a show at Signature Theatre.

Fort Barnard Park is only a short, eight-minute drive down I-395 S., but there is limited parking available so you may consider taking the Metro which only costs $3.50 one-way and takes an hour.
