Explore One of the City’s Most Historic Buildings With Pentagon Tours

June 30, 2018

Many people don’t know that the Pentagon has a tour program that is free and open to the public. The Pentagon serves as the headquarters for the Department of Defense, and is an impressive structure that is actually the largest low rise office building in the world. It's so large that the US Capitol building could fit within any of the five wedges that make up the Pentagon. Come marvel at its grand architecture, and learn about the work being done there with a Pentagon Tour.

The completely guided tour includes a 60 to 90 minute presentation as you traverse nearly 1.5 miles of the building. The tour has presentations on the five branches of the Armed Services and the mission of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Joint Staff. To ensure tight security, tours must be booked at least 14 days in advance and all attendees must present a photo ID to join the tour.

Pentagon Tours are held Monday through Friday during designated time slots, and are also wheelchair accessible. Visit the website for more information on the tour guidelines and to book your reservation.
