The Annual Arlington County Fair Returns Aug. 14-18
August 9, 2019What’s more traditional than heading out for ice cream, games, and prizes at the country fair each summer? This year you can visit the Arlington County Fair at Thomas Jefferson Community Center from August 14-18. Kids might enjoy seeing some farm animals at the on-site petting zoo, cheering on a pig race, or riding a pony, before heading over to the Kids Court bounce houses, musicians, and magic shows. Adults won’t want to miss the fair’s various competitive exhibits, including a team robotics challenge (new this year) as well as more traditional craft, cooking and agricultural competitions. Marvel at hand-stitched quilts, exclaim over the region’s largest pumpkins, and sample a few award-winning cookies.
The Arlington County Fair is huge, with literally hundreds of booths and vendors, so you’re sure to find something that’s right up your alley. Entrance to the fair itself is completely free, while food, drink, midway games, and carnival rides are all pay-as-you-go.
