Take a Memorable One-Hour Guided Tour of The Pentagon

December 28, 2016

Many know the purpose The Pentagon serves, but few understand the level of planning that goes into the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, and the missions of the five armed services. The Pentagon Tours Program aims to educate the public on how this side of government operates on a day to day basis.

Many visitors say they didn’t expect to enjoy this enlightening behind-the-scenes take on this ‘mini-city’ as much as they did, and find the 9/11 indoor and outdoor memorials a respectful highlight of the tour. More than 106,000 people walk through this monumental building annually, which boasts twice the floor space of the Empire State Building. While tours fill up quickly, guests can make group reservations by putting in a reservation request 14 to 90 days in advance. Guests of The Pentagon should bring two forms of ID and be prepared to walk, as this tour lasts 60 minutes and ventures 1.49 miles through the building.
